Policy Regarding the Protection of Personal Information (“Privacy Policy”)

IGC is dedicated to protecting your privacy and maintaining the trust that you have placed in us.

The purpose of this policy is to inform you of why and how we obtain personal information.

Personal information can be provided to us and not limited to the following channels: this

website, by completing a Role Model form or Schools form, by donation, by communicating

through email, mail, in person, or by telephone. As such, you agree that this information will be

dealt in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and you authorize IGC, its third parties service

providers to handle your personal information for the purposes described below:


Collection of personal information

We collect personal information such as contact information, when one registers as either a

Role Model to be featured in our upcoming events or as a School interested to have IGC host

events at their location. Personal information can include, but not limited to full name or school

name, home or, school address, and email address. Similar information may be requested

through our third-party service provider regarding donations to IGC, as well as details regarding

the payment of the donation (i.e., the donor’s credit card information).

Personal information may also be gathered in other circumstances such as the completion of

surveys or feedback that we may invite you to participate in, other communications with IGC,

etc.

We also use Google Analytics to collect information about how people use our website. We do

this to make sure it meets its users’ needs and to understand how we could do it better.

Google Analytics stores information about what pages you visit, how long you are on the site,

how you got there and what you click on. We do not collect or store your personal information

(e.g. your name or address) so this information cannot be used to identify who you are. We do

not allow Google to use or share our analytics data.


Usage of personal information

With regard to registering as a Role Model or a School, we will process your personal data on

the basis of your consent and/or our legitimate interests (which include (i) matching Role Models

with Schools to ensure the success of our events; (ii) enabling relevant stakeholders to engage

with, evaluate, promote and help grow IGC; (iii) the administration, improvement and promotion

of IGC and our website; (iv) management of relationships with our Role Models, Schools,

donors and other supporters; and (v) for compliance with applicable laws, rules and

regulations).

Where the processing of your personal information is based on your consent, and not any other

legal basis, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. This withdrawal of your

consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing prior to the withdrawal.

We will store your personal data for the duration of your involvement with us and for a

reasonable period afterwards. We make every reasonable effort to prevent the loss or

inappropriate use of the personal information in our possession.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet, nor any means of electronic storage, is

100% secure. We therefore cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you

transmit or provide to us, and you do so at your own risk. Nor can we guarantee that such

information will not be accessed, obtained, disclosed, altered, or destroyed as a result of a

breach of our physical, technical, or administrative safeguards. If you have reason to believe

Protecting Information and Disclosure of personal information

All information you provide to us is stored on secure cloud-based servers provided by a third-

party vendor. Our third-party vendor is contractually obliged to put in place protection before

exporting or processing any of your personal data. Although we will do our best to protect your

personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of the information transmitted to our sites. Any

transmission will be at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use

appropriate security features and procedures to try to prevent unauthorized access.

Volunteer to be a Role Model

By registering with us as a Role Model, we may share your personal information with third

parties who are also registered with us in connection with our mission (i.e. schools and related

organisations) to match you with the appropriate speaking or other similar opportunities.

We may provide data relating to your participation (“Volunteer Participation Data”) to national

and global partners of Inspiring Girls International and other selected parties who carry out work

within the education sector and have an active interest solely so that they can monitor

participation and success of IGC.

The Volunteer Participation Data may include your country and city of residence, your age, the

job details that you have provided, the languages you speak, numbers of messages and details

of any events that you have participated as an IGC Role Model, the number of hours you have

contributed and any feedback that you have provided. You will not be identified by name in the

Volunteer Participation Data; however, it may be possible for a third party to identify you as a

result of the information that is disclosed (for example, job title and employer details).

Except as outlined above or as otherwise required or permitted by law, we do not disclose

information about identifiable individuals to third parties without the relevant individual’s consent.

However, we may provide third parties with anonymized aggregate information about our users

for monitoring participation in and the success of any campaign activities by IGC, or for research

with the purpose of improving our service as a hub for Role Models and Schools or similar

institutions who wish to participate in IGC’s activities.


Schools and other educational providers

If you register with us as a teacher, principal or governor on behalf of a school or other

education provider for IGC, we may share some of your personal information (i.e. your name

and the name and location of your school) with third-parties who are also registered with us in

connection with IGC (i.e. volunteers, employers and professional bodies) in order to introduce

you to potential speakers or other volunteers. We will not share your personal contact details, as

all contact will be initiated through IGC’s database.

We may provide employers and professional bodies involved in with IGC with the name and

location of the school, college or similar institution registered for IGC, so that they can identify

potential partnerships. We may also provide employers and professional bodies with other data

relating to the School’s participation in IGC programs (“School Participation Data”) for the same

purpose.

The School Participation Data may include your School’s name, address and numbers of

messages and details of any events that the school has participated in through the IGC

program, the number of hours that have been requested/used and any feedback that the

school/teacher has provided to IGC. The School Participation Data will not include any contact

information relating to the individual teacher that has registered for IGC on behalf of the school,

college or similar educational institution.

We may also provide the School Participation Data to funders of IGC and other selected parties

who carry out work within the education sector and have an active interest in IGC. This may

include the School’s local Council, School Boards and relevant government departments, solely

so that they can monitor participation in and the success of IGC. We may provide a participating

school or similar educational institution with the School Participation Data and the names of any

of their staff who have registered to IGC.


Cookies and hyperlinks

Like virtually all websites, we store anonymized data on visits in server log files, which contain

IP addresses of machines used to access this site, and the pages requested.

As mentioned previously, we use Google Analytics to collect information about how people use

information about our programs or services. If you do not wish to receive information of this

Withdrawal of consent and access to personal information

You may withdraw your consent and usage of your personal information by sending a written

request to canada@inspiring-girls.com, subject to the applicable legal and contractual

restrictions and within reasonable notice. Your personal data can then be deleted.

 Right to Access. You can ask us to: (i) confirm that we have personal information about

you, and (ii) provide you a copy of that information.

 Right to Correct. You can ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal

information that we have about you.

“Canadian Privacy Rights Request”. Before we honor your request, we will need to verify your
